Bareilly: On the occasion of “No Vehicle Day,” Bareilly District Magistrate Avinash Singh travelled by public bus to attend the Commissioner’s meeting, giving a strong message in support of environmental conservation, fuel saving, and the promotion of public transport.
The initiative was undertaken in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal and the directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath aimed at encouraging sustainable practices and reducing pollution.
After the meeting, the District Magistrate further demonstrated simplicity and public connect by travelling from the Collectorate office to his official residence on a motorbike instead of using an official vehicle. The gesture was widely appreciated by officers and employees present.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Magistrate emphasized the importance of fuel conservation, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and the creation of a healthier atmosphere. He appealed to all district officials and employees to contribute to this national cause by minimizing the use of private and official vehicles wherever possible.

He also urged government employees to observe Mondays and Saturdays as “No Vehicle Days” every week and to prefer public transportation instead of personal or official vehicles on these days.
